Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of paga-calc, a California PAGA tier classifier. By using the tool you accept them. paga-calc is research material, not legal advice — sections 7 and 8 below are the load-bearing risk language.

Section 1

Acceptance

By accessing or using paga-calc, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the tool.

Section 2

What paga-calc is

paga-calc is a California PAGA tier classifier. It provides Labor Code citations and tier classification based on inputs you supply. Outputs are research material, not legal advice. The methodology lives at /methodology and is the source of truth for how classifications are produced.

What paga-calc is NOT

  • Not a law firm.
  • Not a substitute for an attorney.
  • Not an audit.
  • Not a settlement calculator.
  • Not a guarantee of any outcome.
Section 4

Eligibility

paga-calc is designed for California cleaning contractor owner-operators. The tool works for any California employer, but the citations are written for the cleaning vertical. You must be at least 16 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the business whose data you submit.

Section 5

Payment

The $49 audit add-on is currently pausedduring the MVP test phase. No payments are being collected at this time. Free email waitlists remain active. If we resume paid features, we'll update this section.

Section 6

Acceptable use

  • Don't submit other people's confidential information.
  • Don't scrape or automate the tool.
  • Don't represent paga-calc output as legal advice in any forum.
Section 7

Disclaimers (no warranty)

paga-calc is provided AS IS, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Calculations are estimates based on the inputs you supply and the methodology published at /methodology. No warranty is made as to fitness for any particular purpose or for use in any legal proceeding.

Section 8

Limitation of liability

paga-calc and magpiexyz-lab are not liable for any decision you take based on paga-calc output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the tool. Consult a California-licensed employment attorney before acting on any output.

Section 9

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from or related to your use of paga-calc will be resolved in California state or federal courts.

Section 10

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for abuse or violation of these terms. You can stop using paga-calc at any time by closing the tab and emailing us to delete your data (see Privacy § 5).

Section 11

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page is the current effective date. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use of paga-calc after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
